The overlay refers to how much the door covers the cabinet side panel. "Full Overlay" covers most of the panel. "Half Overlay" covers half (for two doors sharing a partition). and "Inset" fits flush inside the cabinet opening. Please refer to the diagram in the specifications section to choose correctly.
